CHARITY EVENT - THE FIREFLY | 2010-01-07

For two years the 1^st International School of Ostrava has supported the charity event “The Day of the Firefly”. It is a project established and run by Czech Radio. Its aim is to support visually impaired children and adults. On 9th September, hundreds of volunteers go in the streets of big towns in our country and sell some products made by blind individuals – postcards, magnets, rubber bracelets and so on. Our students, who were dressed as these night-flying creatures, collected money when selling the products. The money will be used for a lot of projects and equipment which help the visually impaired.
