Trip to Prague | 2010-04-25

Several students of the second and third year of our school went, the 23rd of March, 2010, on a trip to Prague. They took advantage of the invitation of the Vice-President of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miroslava Němcová.

Upon arrival, we went for a good breakfast and then we went straight to the Parliament of the Czech Republic. A guide was waiting for us. After seeing a documentary about the Parliament, the guide acquainted us in a very interesting way with all the operations of the entire Parliament. She showed us all the rooms and other spaces of the building. On the walls, we could see beautiful tapestries featuring the regional cities of our country and the names of famous Czech artists. We even went to the council hall of the Parliament and took some pictures.

The Parliament visit was not only a pleasant experience, but most of us can now finally imagine the importance of working in the Parliament. What a pity that, on this day, an extraordinary parliamentary session took place, and, therefore, it was not possible to go for the planned discussion with Mrs. Miroslava Němcová.

After the Parliament visit, we had some free time and individually went into the rush of the city. During this time, we were able to go for lunch, or admire the beauty of Prague.

At four o'clock, our whole group met in front of the Palladium shopping mall, and we went to the Marriott Hotel. The U.S. Universities Fair was held there, and we were going to visit it.

Representatives of all schools were pleasantly answering on our nosy questions, with smiles. Each of the universities had prepared a lot of promotional materials, and even some promotional items for future students.

After a very pleasant two hours, we headed toward the train station. We got on the Pendolino train to Ostrava, and we spent the whole way back chatting about our experiences of the day.
