The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a global program that operates in over 130 countries.
The program was created in Great Britain as a means of promoting the self-development of young boys. It was, and still is, designed for everyone, regardless of their background, physical abilities, skills or interests. As early as 1958 it opened to girls and began to spread throughout the world. In 1988, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards Association was founded to support the operation of the program in countries outside Great Britain.
Young people discover their place in this world thanks to the DofE programme.
At our school, several students at all levels complete the program every year. Slowly and regularly, with the help and supervision of their award leaders and evaluators, they fulfill their set goals in the individual areas of the program – skills, movement and volunteering. And finally, they complete expedition training and an adventure expedition with their team.
Last week, 18 of our program graduates received their Bronze and Silver Awards during a ceremony at Silesian University in Karviná. Congratulations and thank you for participating in this challenge, we believe that it brought you a lot of new experience and knowledge.
