The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Informative Meeting

19. 9. 2024
1st International School of Ostrava

An integral part of our school is the international youth development program – The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

It is a comprehensive and informal development of the individual through several areas, non-competitive, individually set and flexible, but at the same time continuous, consistent and well structured so that everyone achieves his/her goal with the help and guidance of the qualified awards leaders and expedition leaders

You can study all the details on the official website of the program https://dofe.cz/en

Our school has been involved in the program for 10 years and during that time has led approximately 100 participants to awards at all levels, some of whom received their awards from members of the British royal family – the founder of the program is Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (hence the name of the program) , now run by his son Prince Edward.

This program exactly fulfills the philosophy of our school, which is why we now offer it again to all pupils who have reached the age of 14. The award itself is completed by the students in their free time, sometimes they manage to combine it with a school event, always under the guidance of their leader from among trained teachers and at the same time under the evaluative eye of an adult in the context of approving individual activities.

We hereby invite all interested parties who would like to start their DofE journey with us to come to the informative meeting next week on Thursday 19.9. to Brave Cave on the 8th floor, at 3:35 p.m. We’ll have more fun, answer questions, show options.

Thank you and we look forward to your DofE experiences!
