Three of our students are members of Michálkovice Voluntary fire brigade. They took part in Czech championship in the discipline called Plamen at the beginning of July and … they WON! Congratulations and here is a brief interview about their hobby.
How did you get to firefighting sport?
R+B: Me and my brother found this sport ourselves; we drove around Michálkovice fire department a couple of times, sent them an e-mail this is how we got to this.
M: The guys asked me to support their team in one of the contests.
How long have you been members of your team?
R+B: Five years.
M: Year and half.
Tell us something more about firefighting sport, please.
R+B: We participated in the Czech championship in Plamen discipline, where we got from district and regional round. Firefighting sport is based on athletics, but it also includes firefighting elements- fire drill, versatility, hose work etc.
How often do you train?
R+B: Twice a week.
M: Nearly every day.
How do you see your future?
R+B: As an american firefighter in Las Vegas.
M: I have not decided yet, but I will probably be a firefighter too.
