Within the Active Citizens project, in collaboration with the British Council, Člověk v tísni, o.s., and the European Union, the 1st International School of Ostrava is organizing the project
Walkthrough Gallery
The city center of Ostrava is a place with many grey, dull venues, which, on the other side, are full of potential to be used creatively. This inspired out team to come up with the project „Walkthrough Gallery“. It is the transformation of an unused passageway near the Electra tram stop and the House of Art, into a walk-through art gallery.
From this project, we expect added beauty to the city, and a way for young, talented artists to present themselves.
On the occasion of the gallery’s opening, we will organize a celebration, after which the artworks will be changed regularly with different exhibition themes. This will give young artists and art school students the opportunity to show their work off, and experience the atmosphere of their very own exhibition.
The aims of this project are to:
- Elevate the atmosphere of this place
- Introduce the public to new artists
- Combine modern art with the busy envirnonment of Ostrava
- Regularly change the themes of the exhibitions
